Many of us have been conditioned to think that we are halves. We are constantly searching for our other half. They become our significant other and marriage happens and that’s how life “ought to be”…
but I beg to differ. I like to believe that we are all whole. We are all one in search for more than one. There is no significant other - but a significant self looking for another significant entity to become two in one bond. We contribute to one pulsing world filled with sole beings that exist singularly. Regardless of what bonds are broken between two beings, there is still self - whole and independently functioning.
I can’t imagine a better weekend spent: driving up to Azusa Pacific to support their badass slam team [@arielleestoria + @moniquechiu + Analiese + Daniellex2] and spitting some group work with @kayonuh (aka Queen K) + @stephanielkam. Good luck, good vibes, and prayers to you lady-poets at nationals! #spokenwordbringspeopletogether
